My Cousins Came to Visit Again!

The male person was looking out the window of the yurt and he saw something across the river.

Do you see what I see?
It's my cousins!

Elk are ruminants just like goats.
They are much, much bigger than goats.
Especially Nigerian Dwarf goats.

In fact the only member of the deer family that is bigger than an elk is a moose.
I have never seen a moose.
It would be nice to meet my cousin the moose but the male person says that I would probably be scared and run.

Anyway, the elk across the river stayed for a while just munching on the new shoots of yummy green grass.

I can't say that I blame them.
If I had yummy shoots of new green grass I would munch on them too.
Hmmmm, maybe I should cross the river!

Does anyone have a boat I can borrow?

  1. Maybe the elk would welcome you into their herd? Tee hee.

  2. can't goats swim? i know moose can.

  3. So nice to have your cousins visit! I don't think I'd want to ride in a boat. It might tip over and then I'd get WET!

  4. I think you would be very nervous around elk because they get much BIGGER when you get up close -- and, moose, well, I won't even go there. You have the perfect view, both in vision and attitude. Stay safe on your side of the water and imagine all the wonderful things that could be. A boat would not be your best way to cross. Just dive in and let nature take its course. You'll do fine.

  5. What an exciting day at the farm -- elk!

  6. Closer up those elk are pretty big Pricilla! It might be best to wait for shoots of new green grass at your Happy farm!

  7. Maybe the elk would like to come visit and taste your grain while you go over and nibble on their shoots of green grass!

  8. Hahaha! You were so right when you said you lived in the country (in response to me, in CT, saying I did). I'm lucky if I see some Cardinals and Blue jays. Never mind elk.

  9. You better just stay on your side of the river! Besides you don't want to risk getting "gulp" wet! Goaties do hate that!

Maaaaaa away....
